Waveshare Cobra Flex Universal Modular Drive-by-Wire 4WD Chassis

The Waveshare Cobra Flex is a 4WD robotics chassis built around drive-by-wire hub motors instead of belts or gear trains, giving builders direct, responsive control over each wheel for precise navigation. The all-metal body has generously sized internal space for a controller board, battery, and sensor payload, and an advanced suspension design smooths out movement over uneven terrain.
It's open-source at both the hardware and software level, and works across common robotics hosts — Raspberry Pi, Jetson boards, ROS, or a standalone microcontroller — so it drops into an existing robotics stack rather than forcing a specific one. The chassis has mounting room for cameras, LiDAR, ultrasonic sensors, and wireless modules, and supports bus servos for synchronized multi-axis motion.
