Product Overview

The TVS Electronics LP 46 Dlite is a 4-inch desktop label printer that handles both thermal transfer and direct thermal printing at 203 dpi and up to 152 mm per second (6 ips). It connects over USB as standard, carries 32 MB SDRAM with 16 MB flash, and takes ribbons up to 300 metres on either a 0.5-inch or 1-inch core. The compact body has a transparent window on top so staff can see how much label stock is left without opening the cover, which is a small thing that prevents a lot of mid-run surprises.

This is a sensible everyday workhorse for Indian small and medium businesses: a garment or footwear store tagging stock, a distributor labelling cartons, a pharmacy printing shelf labels, or an online seller barcoding products before despatch. Because it does both print methods, one machine covers short-life labels on thermal paper and long-life labels on synthetic stock with ribbon. TVS supports it through a large Indian dealer and service network, so spares are easier to arrange than with an imported unit.

Why Choose This Product?

The strongest practical argument for the LP 46 Dlite is ribbon capacity. A 300 m ribbon on a 1-inch core lasts several times longer than the short ribbons many entry-level printers accept, so a shop tagging a few thousand items a week changes consumables far less often. Supporting both 0.5-inch and 1-inch cores also means you are not locked into one supplier's ribbon size, which keeps your consumable cost honest over the life of the machine.

Where it is not the right answer: this is a desktop-class machine, so continuous eight-hour printing in a dusty factory will wear it faster than an industrial unit. If you need networked printing, check the interface option carefully, because the standard model ships with USB only and Ethernet is a variant rather than something added later. Tell us how you intend to connect it and we will quote the correct version.

Applications

Garment and Footwear Tagging

Print price tags and barcode labels for incoming stock. Use thermal transfer with a resin or wax-resin ribbon on synthetic tags so the print survives shop-floor handling and does not fade in a display window.

Pharmacy and Clinic Labels

Produce shelf, batch and dispensing labels at the counter. The compact footprint sits beside a billing terminal, and the transparent window warns staff when a roll is low.

Warehouse and Carton Labelling

Label cartons, bins and totes with Code 128 or QR codes for despatch and putaway. The 108 mm print width covers standard 4-inch carton labels.

E-commerce Product Barcoding

Barcode products before they go into a marketplace consignment so they scan correctly at the fulfilment centre. The 300 m ribbon keeps long batch runs going without interruption.

What's Included in the Box

Standard pack contains the printer, power adapter, USB cable and documentation. Label rolls and ribbons are consumables and are ordered separately. Confirm the exact pack, ribbon core size and interface option with us on WhatsApp before ordering.

How to Use

  1. Connect the power adapter and the USB cable to your billing PC, then install the TVS printer driver.
  2. Open the cover, load the label roll on the media holder and set the guides to your label width.
  3. For thermal transfer, fit the ribbon on the matching 0.5-inch or 1-inch core; for direct thermal, use thermal label stock with no ribbon.
  4. Close the cover and run a feed or calibration so the printer learns your label gap.
  5. Design the label in your billing or label software, print one, and scan it before running the batch.
