Key Features of Laser Module
- Focused Red Dot Beam: Produces a sharp, clearly visible 650nm red laser dot suitable for precise pointing and alignment tasks.
- 5V TTL Operation: Directly interfaces with Arduino and other 5V microcontrollers - no additional driver circuit required.
- 3-Pin Simple Wiring: Signal, VCC, and GND pins make hookup fast and beginner-friendly.
- Digital Modulation: Turn the laser ON/OFF via a digital pin, enabling pulsed signaling, laser communication, and triggered activation.
- Compact PCB-Mounted Design: Small form factor with onboard driver circuitry fits easily into enclosures, robotic platforms, and breadboard setups.
- Adjustable Focus: Rotate the laser head to fine-tune the focal point for different working distances.
- Low Power Consumption: Draws under 40mA, making it suitable for battery-powered and portable projects.
- Wide Compatibility: Works with Arduino Uno, Mega, Nano, ESP8266, ESP32, Raspberry Pi, STM32, and virtually any 3.3V/5V logic platform.
- 100% authentic module from trusted suppliers with verified quality
- Plug-and-play with Arduino - no external resistors or drivers needed
- Bright, clearly visible beam works in indoor environments and moderate outdoor conditions
- Reliable onboard driver prevents overcurrent damage to the laser diode
Perfect For
- Laser Tripwire Security System: Pair the laser module with an LDR or photodiode sensor to create a beam-break alarm. When an intruder interrupts the laser beam, the sensor detects the light drop and triggers a buzzer or sends an alert.
- Laser Communication (Li-Fi Prototype): Modulate the laser signal at high speed to transmit data optically between two points. Use a photodiode receiver to decode the signal - a great introduction to optical communication principles.
- Laser Harp Musical Instrument: Arrange multiple laser modules as virtual "strings." When a player breaks a beam with their hand, the corresponding sensor triggers a musical note via Arduino and a speaker module.
- Distance & Alignment Tool: Use the focused laser dot as a reference point for aligning mechanical parts, leveling surfaces, or marking positions in DI
Pin Configuration
| Pin | Label | Connection |
| 1 | S (Signal) | Digital GPIO pin on microcontroller |
| 2 | VCC | 5V power supply |
| 3 | GND | Ground |
How It Works
The laser module contains a semiconductor laser diode paired with an onboard driver circuit mounted on a small PCB. When the signal pin is driven HIGH (5V), current flows through the driver to the laser diode, which emits coherent light at 650nm wavelength - producing a focused red dot. When the signal pin is driven LOW, the laser turns off. This simple digital control allows microcontrollers to switch the laser on and off programmatically. The onboard driver regulates current to protect the diode, ensuring stable output and long operational life. The adjustable lens at the front lets you focus the beam for a tight dot at varying distances.
