Product Overview

The Honeywell Xenon XP 1950g is the corded version of Honeywell's flagship retail area imager. The GSR configuration is the standard-range model: on a 13 mil retail barcode it reads from contact out to 490 mm, and on a 20 mil carton code it reaches 822 mm. It reads 1D, PDF, 2D, Postal, Digimarc, DotCode and OCR symbologies, and it is tuned to read digital codes off a customer's smartphone screen as well as printed merchandise labels.

What separates it from a mid-range scanner is what happens after a year on the counter. It is engineered for 50 drops from 1.8 m and 2,000 tumbles from 0.5 m, sealed to IP52, and it carries a 5 year factory warranty. Motion tolerance is up to 400 cm/s on a 13 mil UPC, so a cashier can sweep items past without pausing. For a high-volume Indian supermarket lane, a pharmacy chain or a hospital billing window, this is the scanner you buy once.

Why Choose This Product?

This is the value pick among premium retail scanners, and the reason is the warranty. You get the same optics, the same 490 mm reach and the same 50-drop, IP52 durability as the cordless 1952g, but with a 5 year factory warranty instead of 3, no battery to charge or replace, and a lower purchase price. If the scanner lives on a fixed counter and never needs to walk anywhere, the corded model is strictly the better deal.

The trade-off is the cable, and it is a real one. You cannot walk to a shelf, you cannot scan a bulky item beyond cable reach, and on a crowded POS station it is one more wire to manage. If your staff need to move β€” line busting, aisle stock checks, dispatch at a loading bay β€” buy the cordless Xenon XP 1952g instead.

Applications

High-volume supermarket checkout

400 cm/s motion tolerance lets cashiers sweep items past without stopping, the biggest single lever on queue length during evening rush.

Pharmacy chains and hospital billing windows

Read small Data Matrix codes on medicine packs and patient file barcodes, with disinfectant-ready housings available for clinical areas.

Wholesale and building-material counters

Read 20 mil carton codes out to 822 mm so heavy bags, tins and boxes are scanned where they sit rather than lifted onto the counter.

Modern retail with digital coupons

Scan discount codes, loyalty QR codes and digital wallets straight off the customer's phone screen at the till.

What's Included in the Box

Standard pack: scanner plus USB cable. Contents vary by part number and kit β€” message us on WhatsApp with the part number you need and we will confirm before you order.

How to Use

  1. Push the interface cable into the base of the handle until it clicks, then connect the other end to your PC or POS terminal.
  2. Power up and wait for the ready indication. Over USB the scanner is seen as a keyboard, so no driver install is needed.
  3. Click into the barcode field in your billing software so the cursor is active there.
  4. Aim and press the trigger. Stand back for large 20 mil carton codes β€” they read out to 822 mm; hold small Data Matrix codes around 29–245 mm.
  5. Turn on vibration if the floor is too noisy, and use the Honeywell setup barcodes to add a suffix.

GST invoice with every order. 7-day money-back on manufacturing defects. Fast delivery across India.
