Product Overview
The Honeywell Voyager XP 1472g is a cordless 2D area-imaging scanner for retail counters that want the Voyager shape and feel without a cable. It reads 1D, PDF, 2D and DotCode symbologies, including codes on a customer's phone screen, and it holds its read rate on damaged and poor-quality labels. On a standard 13 mil retail barcode it reads from 18 mm out to 400 mm, enough to reach items sitting low in a trolley without the cashier bending over.
The kit is built around a charger and communication base. The scanner links over Bluetooth v4.2 at up to 100 m line of sight, and a 2400 mAh Li-ion battery gives up to 50,000 scans or 14 hours of operation. It is engineered for 30 drops from 1.8 m and 1,000 tumbles from 0.5 m with IP52 sealing, and it is backward compatible with existing Voyager accessories.

Why Choose This Product?
The 1472g is the cordless option for stores that want to stay on the Voyager platform. At 210 g it is lighter than a Xenon-class cordless, the shape is familiar to staff who already use Voyagers, and existing stands and mounts keep working. For a showroom, a pharmacy chain or a mid-size supermarket that scans mostly at a counter but sometimes on the floor, it balances 2D capability, cordless freedom and cost.
Two honest limits. Motion tolerance is 70 cm/s, well below a checkout-class scanner, so on a fast lane the operator pauses a fraction on each item β if your lane runs flat out, the Xenon XP 1952g is the correct tool. And reach is 400 mm on a 13 mil code against 490 mm for a Xenon, with 30 drops from 1.8 m against 50. It is a counter scanner, not a warehouse one.
Applications
Garment, footwear and lifestyle showrooms
Scan hang tags at the trial room, on the floor and at the till with one device, and read customer coupons off their phone at billing.
Supermarket and departmental store counters
Read trolley-bottom items in place up to 400 mm away, and handle the mixed 1D and QR labels on modern Indian FMCG packs.
Pharmacy and clinic counters
Read small strip and carton codes plus prescription and appointment QR codes, without a cable stretched across a crowded counter.
Stockroom and shelf-edge price checks
Walk the aisles up to 100 m from the base doing stock verification, then return to the till.
What's Included in the Box

How to Use
- Connect the base to power and to your PC or POS terminal using the supplied interface cable.
- Seat the scanner in the base and charge it fully before first use; a full charge takes about 4.5 hours.
- Lift the scanner out. It links to its base over Bluetooth automatically β a beep and the LED confirm the connection.
- Click into the barcode field in your billing software, then aim and press the trigger. Hold small Data Matrix codes closer, around 10β165 mm.
- Put the scanner back in the base at the end of the shift so it is charged for the next day.
