Product Overview
The Honeywell Voyager XP 1470g is a corded 2D area-imaging scanner built for in-store retail counters that need accurate reading in a durable body. It reads 1D, PDF, 2D and DotCode symbologies β QR codes and Data Matrix included β and it holds its read rate on damaged, faded and poorly printed labels. On a standard 13 mil retail barcode it reads from 18 mm out to 400 mm, far enough to scan an item sitting low in a trolley without the cashier bending over the counter.
It weighs 130 g, which is light for its class, and it is engineered for 30 drops from 1.8 m and 1,000 tumbles from 0.5 m, with a 5 year factory warranty. Sitting on the Voyager platform, it is fully backward compatible with existing Voyager accessories, so your stands and mounts keep working. For a garment showroom, a supermarket lane or a pharmacy moving from a 1D laser to 2D, this is the straightforward corded choice.

Why Choose This Product?
This is the sensible upgrade path for a store still running a 1D laser at the counter. You get QR and Data Matrix reading, phone-screen scanning and a 5 year factory warranty in a 130 g corded body that costs far less than a cordless flagship. The 1.8 m drop rating and 1,000-tumble spec mean it survives being knocked off a counter, which is how most retail scanners actually die. If your existing accessories are Voyager, nothing else needs replacing.
Know the limits. Motion tolerance is 70 cm/s, well below a checkout-class imager, so on a fast lane the operator will pause slightly on each item β if your queue never stops, the Xenon XP 1950g is the correct scanner. IP40 also means effectively no dust or water sealing, so this belongs on a clean retail counter, not in a godown.
Applications
Garment, footwear and lifestyle retail
Scan printed hang tags at the till and read discount coupons or loyalty QR codes straight off the customer's phone during billing.
Supermarket and departmental store counters
Handle the mixed 1D and QR labels on modern Indian FMCG packs, and reach trolley-bottom items up to 400 mm away without lifting them.
Pharmacy and clinic billing
Read small Data Matrix codes on medicine cartons at close range, plus prescription and appointment QR codes at the counter.
Front desks and service counters
Scan booking confirmations, membership cards, e-way bill QR codes and document barcodes at a hotel, clinic or office reception.
What's Included in the Box
Standard pack: scanner plus USB cable. Contents vary by part number and kit β message us on WhatsApp with the part number you need and we will confirm before you order.
How to Use
- Push the interface cable into the base of the handle until it locks, then plug the other end into your PC or POS terminal.
- Power up and wait for the ready indication. Over USB the scanner is seen as a keyboard, so no driver install is required.
- Click into the barcode or item field in your billing software so the cursor is active.
- Aim and press the trigger. Retail barcodes read out to 400 mm; hold small Data Matrix codes closer, around 10β165 mm.
- To add a suffix, change the keyboard layout or enable extra symbologies, scan the setup barcodes from the Voyager XP 1470g user guide.
