Product Overview

The Honeywell PM45 is a high-performance industrial label printer for operations that print in volume and cannot afford a stoppage. It reaches 350 mm per second (14 ips) at 203 dpi and is available at 203, 300, 406 or 600 dpi, with print registration held to plus or minus 0.5 mm. It prints direct thermal and thermal transfer, takes label rolls up to 213 mm in diameter and ribbons up to 450 m, and carries Ethernet, two USB host ports, a USB device port and RS-232 as standard.

The PM45 sits above the PD45S, and the gap is real: 14 ips against 10 ips, 512 MB flash against 256 MB, four resolution choices instead of two, and RFID, applicator and WWAN options the PD45S does not offer. If you print continuously at peak, run a labelling applicator, or have RFID on your roadmap, the PM45 will still be right in three years.

If none of that applies, do not buy it. A single despatch counter printing a few hundred labels a day will never use this capacity, and the PD45S or PC42t will serve better for much less. At 14 ips you also go through ribbon and label stock quickly, so budget for media and talk to us about the right ribbon grade before a large order.

How to Use

1. Position the printer on a stable surface, connect power and attach the Ethernet cable or fit the Wi-Fi kit.
2. Open the media door, load the label roll on the supply hub and thread the ribbon on its 25 mm core.
3. Install the InterDriver Windows driver or point your existing ZPL, IPL or SAP system at the printer, then print and scan a test label.
