Product Overview

The Honeywell PD45S is a commercial-grade industrial label printer designed to run all day in a factory, warehouse or distribution centre. It has an all-metal frame with deliberately few internal moving parts, prints in both direct thermal and thermal transfer modes, and reaches 250 mm per second (10 ips) at 203 dpi. A 300 dpi version is available for finer barcodes and small text. Honeywell's patented dual-sensor positioning holds vertical accuracy to within 0.5 mm and supports labels as short as 5 mm.

This is the printer for Indian operations where labelling is continuous rather than occasional: an auto-component plant marking parts, a pharma unit printing batch labels, a 3PL warehouse producing pallet labels, or a large e-commerce despatch bay. It supports Fingerprint, Direct Protocol, IPL, ZSim2 (ZPL-II) and DPL, so it can replace an existing Honeywell, Intermec or Zebra printer without rebuilding your label formats.

Why Choose This Product?

The honest case for an industrial printer is duty cycle, not speed. A desktop printer will hit 5 or 6 ips too, but not for eight hours a day for three years in a dusty plant. The PD45S has a metal chassis with a replaceable printhead and a removable front sensor, so cleaning and parts changes take minutes rather than a service call.

Choose the 203 dpi model unless you genuinely need fine detail. Most carton, pallet and shipping labels scan perfectly at 203 dpi and print faster. Step up to 300 dpi for small pharmaceutical labels, tiny component tags or dense 2D codes. Manufacturing and Component Marking

Print part labels, work-in-progress tags and traceability barcodes on the line. The 5 mm minimum label height and 0.5 mm accuracy handle labels on individual components, and the GPIO card lets the printer talk to line equipment.

Warehouse and 3PL Despatch

Produce carton, pallet and shipping labels continuously through a shift. Ethernet puts the printer on your network, and 203 mm rolls with 450 m ribbons keep reloads infrequent at peak.

Pharmaceutical Batch Labelling

Print batch numbers, expiry dates and Data Matrix codes at 300 dpi where regulation demands small, legible marks. The optional cutter and peel assembly suit labels applied one at a time.

Cold Storage and Food Distribution

Use thermal transfer with resin ribbon for labels that must survive moisture, or switch the same machine to direct thermal for short-life labels.

How to Use

1. Place the printer on a level surface, connect power and plug in the Ethernet or USB cable.
2. Open the side door, load the label roll on the media hub and thread the ribbon on its 25.4 mm core.
3. Run calibration from the touchscreen or keypad so the sensors learn your label gap or black mark.
4. Install the InterDriver Windows driver or point your existing ZPL or IPL system at the printer, then print and scan a test label.
