Key Features of 100 RPM- STRAIGHT SINGLE SHAFT BO motor
- 100 RPM Balanced Speed - Provides moderate speed with usable torque, ideal for controlled movement in small robots and wheeled platforms
- Straight Body Design - Inline gearbox-to-motor layout fits neatly into chassis designs where length is available and width is constrained
- Single Shaft Output - Clean, single-side drive simplifies wiring and mechanical coupling; pairs directly with standard BO motor wheels
- D-Shaped Shaft - Prevents wheel slippage and ensures positive engagement with compatible BO wheels and couplers
- Wide Voltage Range (3V-12V) - Operates across common battery configurations (2xAA, 4xAA, 9V, Li-ion), with speed scaling proportionally
- Low Current Draw - Battery-friendly consumption allows extended run times and compatibility with L298N, L293D, and TB6612FNG motor drivers
- Integrated Plastic Gearbox - Built-in gear reduction delivers torque multiplication without needing external gearing
- Lightweight & Compact - At ~30 g, adds minimal weight to small robotic platforms and portable projects
- Easy Solder Terminals - Two exposed metal tabs for quick soldering of power wires; no connector needed
- Universally Compatible - Works with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32, and any microcontroller via standard H-bridge motor driver modules
100 RPM - Straight Single Shaft BO Motor
Reliable, compact DC gearmotor built for robotics, DIY cars, and automation projects - delivering consistent 100 RPM torque from a lightweight, easy-to-mount package.
Overview
The 100 RPM Straight Single Shaft BO (Battery Operated) Motor is a go-to DC gearmotor for hobbyists, students, and engineers building wheeled robots, line followers, obstacle-avoiding cars, and conveyor mechanisms. Its straight-body design with an integrated plastic gearbox delivers a balanced combination of speed and torque at low voltages, making it ideal for battery-powered and microcontroller-driven projects. The single output shaft simplifies mounting with standard BO motor wheels and brackets.
How It Works
The BO motor consists of a small brushed DC motor coupled to a plastic gear train enclosed in a straight housing. When voltage is applied across the two terminals, the internal motor spins at high RPM, and the gear reduction brings the output shaft speed down to approximately 100 RPM while multiplying torque. Reversing the polarity of the applied voltage reverses the direction of rotation.
Speed control is achieved through PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) signals sent from a microcontroller to a motor driver IC. The motor driver handles the current requirements while the microcontroller dictates speed and direction.
