The Waveshare JETANK is a tracked AI robot kit built around the NVIDIA Jetson Nano, aimed at learners and researchers who want to run real vision models on a mobile platform rather than a static dev board. The rugged crawler-track chassis handles uneven surfaces better than wheeled robots, and a 4-DOF servo arm adds basic grabbing and positioning ability on top of navigation.
With the Jetson Nano doing the heavy lifting, the kit can run real-time object detection, vision-based line following, and autonomous navigation using standard frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and OpenCV with CUDA acceleration. Gamepad teleoperation is built in for manual control and testing before switching to autonomous routines. The metal chassis and modular design make it a reasonable base for robotics-competition builds as well as classroom AI teaching.
