How It Works
- Rain Detection Board: The sensing board has exposed nickel-plated traces arranged in a comb pattern. When water droplets land on the board, they bridge adjacent traces and create a conductive path, changing the resistance.
- Control Board Processing: The control module reads the resistance change and outputs a proportional analog voltage on the AO pin. Simultaneously, the LM393 comparator compares this value against the threshold set by the potentiometer and outputs a digital HIGH or LOW on the DO pin.
- Analog Reading: The analog output decreases as more water covers the sensing board - a lower value indicates heavier rainfall or more water presence.
- Digital Reading: When the detected water level exceeds the potentiometer-set threshold, the digital output goes LOW (active low), indicating rain is detected.
