How It Works
The MG996R is a closed-loop servo motor controlled via Pulse Width Modulation (PWM). A control signal with a pulse width between 500 us and 2500 us is sent to the signal pin at a frequency of approximately 50 Hz. The internal control circuitry reads the pulse width, compares it to the current position from the built-in potentiometer, and drives the motor to the corresponding angle. A 500 us pulse moves the shaft to 0 degrees, a 1500 us pulse centers it at 90 degrees, and a 2500 us pulse drives it to 180 degrees. The metal gear train and dual ball bearings ensure the output shaft moves smoothly and holds position firmly even under load.
