New to Raspberry Pi and wondering why everyone talks about "cases" and "cooling"? The Raspberry Pi Metal Aluminum Case with Double Fans for Raspberry Pi 4B (Gold) is a good example of both in one product, priced at Rs 684 on Tech Depot India: Raspberry Pi Metal Aluminum Case with Double Fans for Raspberry Pi 4B (Gold). Let's break down what that actually means.
What is the Raspberry Pi Metal Aluminum Case with Double Fans for Raspberry Pi 4B (Gold)?
In simple terms, a Raspberry Pi is a tiny bare circuit board, and a "case" is the enclosure you put around it to protect it and give it a finished look. This particular case is made of metal aluminum, built to fit the Raspberry Pi 4B model specifically, comes in a gold finish, and includes two built-in fans for active cooling — meaning the fans actively move air across the board rather than just relying on the metal to passively absorb heat. If you're a beginner, just know this: it's a protective, good-looking case that also helps manage heat while your Pi runs. Raspberry Pi Metal Aluminum Case with Double Fans for Raspberry Pi 4B (Gold) projects — what you can build
Once your Raspberry Pi 4B has a proper case, you'll feel more confident leaving it running for longer projects, such as:
- A simple home server that stays switched on to share files or host a small website.
- A retro gaming console you can display without worrying about exposed circuitry.
- A media player connected to your TV that runs for hours at a stretch.
- A beginner home automation project that needs to stay on continuously.
- A learning setup where you're experimenting with different programs and want the board protected while you do.
These are simply common, sensible uses for a cased and cooled Raspberry Pi 4B — not guarantees, since performance always depends on your own project and environment.
Raspberry Pi 4B cooling options compared
| Product | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Raspberry Pi Metal Aluminum Case with Double Fans for Raspberry Pi 4B (Gold) | Rs 684 | Full metal case with double fans, gold finish |
| 3 in 1 Black Aluminum Heat Sink for Raspberry Pi 4B | Rs 67 | A simple passive heat sink set in black, no case or fans |
| 3 in 1 Gold Aluminum Heat Sink for Raspberry Pi 4B | Rs 42 | The same passive heat sink style in gold |
| 4 in 1 Aluminium Heat Sink for Raspberry Pi 4B | Rs 99 | A larger passive 4-piece heat sink set for the Pi 4B |
Choosing the right one for your project
If you're not sure which cooling option makes sense as a beginner, here's a simple way to think about it: a heat sink alone (the cheaper options above) is a small metal piece that passively pulls heat away from chips, and it's fine for light, everyday use. A full case with double fans, like this one, adds physical protection plus active airflow, which suits you better if you plan to run your Pi 4B for long periods or under heavier workloads. If you're just starting out and unsure how you'll use your board yet, a fully-cased option like this gives you both protection and cooling in one purchase.
